Beyond Storytime, a Beyond the Border production, is first and foremost a way of providing children everywhere with beautifully told stories in their own homes. Beyond the Border is Wales’ International storytelling Festival that happens every 2 years in the Vale of Glamorgan. Beyond Storytime is a small taste of the children’s part of our wonderful festival, available all the time, wherever you live. We hope it will encourage old friends and those of you who have never been to Beyond the Border to join us in 2018 for our 25th anniversary. The proceeds from subscriptions to Beyond Storytime will be used to make our celebratory festival the best ever. You may not realise that the ticket sales only cover about a third of the cost and we have to raise funds from a number of sources to make the festival happen.
So thank you, by subscribing to Beyond Storytime, you are helping Beyond the Border 2018!
Beyond Storytime is brought to you through the generosity of a number of people. We are launching it with 20 stories carefully chosen for us by the storytellers, who have given their time to record them. Many thanks to all the storytellers and other contributors who have helped in a number of ways. More stories will be added later so Beyond Storytime becomes a collection of treasured tales that grows and grows.
There are stories in Welsh as well as in English. A special thanks to the bilingual storytellers for making 2 recordings. Diolch yn fawr iawn.
The original idea was put forward by Phil Thomas who has volunteered a lot of time and effort and brought it life by creating the site. Many thanks to him and to Phil Barber and Pete Arnold who have helped with testing the site.
We’d like to hear what you think of Beyond Storytime, please let us know via the contact page. This is intended for children, if you’d like something similar aimed at adults let us know.
